Pet Food Donations Desperately Needed

Donations of dry and wet cat and dog food, along with nutrition and supplies for birds, hamsters, horses etc. are desperately needed according to Paws For A Cause Chairperson Del Pomerleau. With cost of living having skyrocketed making the winter months very, very difficult, animals that are treasured household pets are suffering. More and more owners are facing separation from their loving companions because the decision is not, eat, heat or…feed the pets.

In only six pet pantry distribution days, 339 families have received food for their pet(s). Dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, bunnies and horses have been fed. All of the food distributed has been donated by generous area merchants, pet food companies and individuals. For those interested in making a donation, drop off locations for contributions are: Waterville Animal Hospital, 20 Washington Ave., Waterville, Kennebec Veterinary Services Inc., First Park, Oakland and Animal House, 80 Main St., Fairfield. Volunteers are available to pick up from homes or businesses, simply call Del Pomerleau at 465-7906 or Sabrina Williamson at 634-5747 to make arrangements.

Pet Food Pantry Distribution Days have changed. Free pet food and supplies will be distributed every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month at the Victor Grange #49 Hall between 2:00 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. (located at the corner of Rte.23 & 139 across from the Center Store, Fairfield Center).
