Pirate Pet and Parade Contest

Grab your garb and your leash for the Pirate Pet Parade & Costume Contest in downtown Damariscotta! The Animal House will be sponsoring the Parade & Contest on Sat., June 14th at 3 p.m., as part of the Pirate Rendezvous Weekend. Dress your doggie up in your most creative pirate costume and let them strut their stuff! All entrants must be registered, and can be registered the day of the event. The registration table will be located at Schooner's Landing on Main Street. The Parade will run from Schooner's Landing and will end at Maine Coast Book Shop, where the Costume Contest will be held.

Free gift bag from The Animal House for all entrants, and each family will be entered in a raffle for the infamous rubber Pirate Chicken. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative pet pirate costumes.

The registration fee for the Parade and Contest is $5. Proceeds will be donated to Lincoln County Family Holiday Wishes, which benefited 140 families in 2007 with Christmas dinners and gifts. Well-behaved pets on leashes welcome!
