3rd Annual Planet Dog Foundation Amateur Dog Show & Cover Dog Challenge
Woofminster 2008 is a fundraising event being held for well-behaved dogs and their people to raise money for NEADS: Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans, and in particular, their Canines for Combat Veterans Program.
The event will feature a Dog & Person Look-Alike Contest, Silly Pet Tricks, Best Howl, Best Dancer, Longest Tongue, Longest Tail, Longest Tail Wag, Best Dancer and a casting call to be the next Planet Dog Cover Dog. The best all-around pooch will win a professional photo shoot and the chance to be on the cover of the next Planet Dog catalog. People without dogs are welcome as well. The event will also feature an Animal Communicator, music, refreshments, raffles, prizes, grooming and loads of fun.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm (registration begins at 12:30) at Camp Ketcha, Scarborough, Maine (336 Black Point Road - corner of Route 77 and Route 207)
Tickets are available in advance for $15 for adults and $5 for ages 10 - 18. Children under the age of 10 are free! Tickets day of the event are $20, but space is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Planet Dog Company Store (211 Marginal Way, Portland).
The mission of the Planet Dog Foundation is to promote and celebrate programs in which dogs serve and support their best friends. Funded in part by the sale of Planet Dog’s premier line of dog products, the program provides cash grants, in-kind product donations and other support to programs in Maine and across the country that support dogs as they support people. PDF sponsors fundraisers at the local level to help raise money and awareness for area organizations that celebrate and strengthen the bond between dogs and people while raising local visibility and support for community programs.
