Animal House Vaccination Clinics a Howling Success
Thanks to the veterinary stylings of Dr. Karin Tichy and her staff, over 130 dogs and cats were vaccinated and tested at The Animal House in their April clinics, held over two weekends. Folks lined up around The Animal House in anticipation of the clinics, cat carriers in hand and dogs waiting patiently. Animal House co-owner Aubrey Martin said of the clinics, "Vaccination clinics are an excellent way to get the necessary vaccines for those pets who have already had their annual examination. Vaccination and testing clinics are not to replace regular veterinary check-ups, but can be very economical, especially for those families who have multiple pets. Dr. Tichy also requested that people bring their vaccination records to ensure that pets were not being over-vaccinated."
In addition to providing the state-mandated rabies vaccination, Dr. Tichy also offered a Heartworm and Lyme test, a combination test especially important in Maine.
All vaccinations and tests were provided at a reduced rate. Future vaccination clinics will be planned in the coming months.
