Venue Change for Casco Bay Club's April Obedience Trial
Casco Bay Dog Training Club is hosting its annual obedience and rally trials on April 12 and 13, 2008. Normally held at the Bath Middle School in Bath, Maine, this year’s event will take place at the Happy Tails training facility on 119 Bishop Street, Portland, Maine. The club is in its 27th year of holding certified AKC trials. Hard-working dogs of all breeds from novice through utility in Obedience and novice through excellent in Rally come with their handlers from all over the eastern US to compete in the two-day event. Although only dogs entered in the trials are allowed onsite, spectators are welcome. Admission is free. Come and be inspired by dogs performing in the canine sports of Obedience and Rally.
Casco Bay Dog Training Club is a non-profit organization founded in 1968 and dedicated to the training of all breeds of dogs. Members come from Cumberland, Sagadahoc and Lincoln Counties. The club offers regular training classes to the public for: general manners; basic obedience;“Loose-Leash” walking; sits, downs, stays, recalls as well as help with complex issues. All courses are taught with positive reinforcement and instructors and members continually enlarge their expertise through seminars and training their own dogs for obedience, Rally, breed shows and field events such as agility, tracking, herding, earthdog and other events Members also enjoy therapy dog work, visits to hospitals, schools and libraries.
