Strategizing The Link: National Town Meeting
The Linkage Project is pleased to announce that the conference brochure and registration is now available for Strategizing The Link: National Town Meeting. The conference agenda is loaded with experts, like minded coalition members and professionals who will share their successes and challenges of addressing cruelty to animals and human violence.
You have all contributed to the success of the Linkage Project in Maine, through participation on the local or statewide level, attendance at training, training others,advocacy and more; all aimed
at protecting people and pets. Our work is collective, collaborative and on-going. Because of our work, we have a unique opportunity to host a conference with our co-sponsors, the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust and the American Humane Association, designed to advance public policy and community coalitions. The goals of the two-day conference (June 8th and 9th) are to:
Strengthen community responses to family violence by convening Link experts, community coalition members and other professionals to strategize a nationwide coordinated effort
Determine how current and planned research, public policy initiatives and coalition-building successes will impact Link programming on the national, state and local levels.
Provide interested parties with an opportunity to advance Link public policy by prioritizing national legislative and program initiatives. Utilize the successes and barriers of Link community coalitions to develop models for successful coalition program development, activities implementation and ongoing sustainability. Create a multidisciplinary and national network to enable local coalitions to learn from one another's experiences in addressing animal cruelty and human violence.
