The Animal House Sponsors a Drive for Supplies for the Humane Society of Knox County

The Animal House, located on Main Street in Damariscotta, is sponsoring a cat food and supply drive for the Humane Society of Knox County. According to the HSKC website, forty-three cats were taken from a home in Rockland and relinquished to the Humane Society. These cats were living in filthy, feces and urine soaked conditions. All were infested with fleas and infected with ear mites. Some had open wounds on their bodies. They are now receiving the proper attention and care that they deserve. The Humane Society of Knox County is over-capacity and each of these cats is being spayed/neutered.

In response to their call for help, The Animal House has become a drop-off site for donated items, such as cat food, litter, paper towels and manilla folders. The Animal House will also match any food product donation for cat food that is purchased at The Animal House. They have already donated over 100lbs. of cat food, and more is ready to go up weekly. The Animal House will continue to be a drop-off location, and to match product donation until the need for product donation request from the Humane Society is complete. If you are interested in donating product, please drop off between regular business hours: Monday-Satuday: 9:30am-5:30pm and Sunday: 10:00am-4:00pm.
