Celebrate the "Noble Newfs" at Seacoast Newfie Fun Days

The Newfie Fun Days Committee presents the 12th annual Seacoast Newfie Fun Days September 15 & 16, at the Piscataqua Boat Basin & Park on Main Street in Eliot, Maine. Join the fun activities and learn about the intelligent and loyal Newfoundland dog breed from 8:30am to 4:30pm both days. This event goes on rain or shine, so dress appropriately.

Because of last year’s success the committee added more activities and spread them over two days. Activities on Saturday include lectures on massage and water therapy, carting and water demonstrations and proper grooming techniques. On Saturday evening “Big Moe” Buckley and his crew will provide a barbecue dinner at 5:30pm. This barbecue is $17.50 per person and is by reservation only.

Sunday’s fun continues with a demonstration by the Piscataqua Obedience Club, a seminar on Newfoundland rescue, a brief dog show handling class and a fun dog match. Photographer Bud Perry of Memories Studios will be there all day Sunday taking photos of you and your Newfs.

The Eliot American Legion will provide breakfast and lunch from their wagon both days. Vendors will also be on the grounds all weekend selling dog-related products. Raffles will go on both days as well. There is ample parking and camping on site is allowed at $5 per night but is by pre-registration only.

Admission is free and is open to everyone, whether you have a Newfoundland dog or not. The Newfie Fun Days Committee encourages you to bring your well behaved Newf along but remember it must be on a leash, and please clean up after your dog. Proceeds from raffle sales and Newfie Fun Days t-shirts benefit Newfoundland Dog Rescue, Newfoundland Dog Health Challenge and the Betty Trott Memorial Rescue Fund which helps all animals in need. This event is dedicated to the memory of Betty Trott, Newfie fancier and founder of Seacoast Newfie Fun Days.
