Wag It Training and Dog Club
Wag It Training Center and Dog Club has started construction on Calderwood Lane in Lincolnville. A 3,800 square foot heated training barn with state of the art rubberized flooring will offer a comfortable space for year round training and playing. Fenced competition size agility training field and pastoral play field will offer additional space to train, play and socialize.
Wag It Training Center will offer Leaping Dogs Training services instructed by Sumac Grant-Johnson. Classes and private lessons in pet manners, agility and freestyle will be available. Sumac has thirty five years of experience as a trainer. She has appeared on The Family Channel's, That's My Dog and competed successfully in a variety of dog sports. Sumac offers positive motivational training methods that build the bond that enables handlers to bring out the best in their family pet or competition dog. Wag It will also bring in top names in canine sports to offer workshops and seminars. World champion and Gold medalist Stacy Peardot-Goudy is already scheduled to fly in from Colorado for a three day seminar in April of 2008.
The Wag It Dog Club will offer a new opportunity to local dog owners. A variety of membership options will fit the needs of both companion dogs and canine athletes. Play groups, use of the training rings and agility equipment, training video viewing, costume contests and talent shows will round out membership benefits. As a private club the combination of the training barn, fenced fields, standards for canine social skills, play time rules and positive handling practices will have dogs wagging to their fullest.
Wag It will also house a small retail site. Critter Outfitter, owner, Skip Nelson will offer students and members nutritious treats, training aids and toys right on site. Wag It will offer it's line of T-shirts, sweatshirts, caps, water bottles and treat pouches.
The opportunity for owners, Sumac Grant-Johnson and Brian Johnson to take their life long love of dogs and turn it into Wag It is a dream come true. This summer they will remain busy offering classes at the Mid Coast Recreation Center, private in home training and the Wag It Canine Sports Camp held at the Medomak Retreat Center. Wag It plans to open the doors on Claderwood Lane in September.
