Grand Opening of Santora Fine Art Gallery
Internationally-recognized, award-winning local artist Carol Santora announces the grand opening of Santora Fine Art Gallery on Saturday, June 23, from noon-6 pm at 23 Fletcher St. in Kennebunk. Santora's body of work includes local scenes, but she is best known for her soulful animal and wildlife portraits. From colorful, yet intimate close-ups of big cats to heart-warming commissions of family pets, Santora captures the essence and personality of the animals she meets. The gallery is open most days 1-4pm, and by chance and appointment.
Since she was a child Santora has loved animals of all kinds and that passion is colorfully expressed in her work. At home with several mediums, her favorite is pastels because of the clean, intense color. Each painting begins with a foundation of thorough research that includes site visits to farms, zoos and rescues all over the United States.
