The South Portland Dog Owners Group is working on generating membership for the upcoming year. Membership is $5.00 per household and helps support continued access to open spaces in South Portland for people to recreate with their dogs responsibly. MIdcoast Rabies Clinic
Humane Society of Knox County, 65 Dexter St. Ext. in Thomaston. Dr. Glenn Yovino of Harbor Road Veterinary Hospital will be in attendance. The cost is only $10 per pet, cash only please. A rabies vaccination is required to license your dog in the state of Maine; deadline to register is January 31 at your city clerk's office. Microchipping of your pet by shelter staff will also be available at the rabies clinic. Microchips are a painless but effective way to provide permanent identification of your pet. Micro chipping is $25.
Please bring your cats in a proper pet carrier and your dogs on a leash and last record of rabies shot if applicable. Kittens must be at least three months old and puppies must be at least four months old. Help Homeless Animals and Have a Great Time at the Same Time! This event features three stand- up comedians and is geared towards the adult audience so you must be 21 or older.to attend. Tickets are $15 and a portion of all the proceeds will go toward The Animal Refuge League PAWS fund. Have dinner at the Gold Room before the show and an additional 10% of the cost of your meals will be donated to the Animal Refuge League.
