2007 Spring Stroll— Walk for Rescue
Camp Ketcha, 336 Blackpoint Rd., Scarborough
Bring your dogs, bring your kids! Join NERR, WMTW’s Rachael Ruble and Slugger the Portland Sea Dog mascot at Camp Ketcha for a day filled with fun and games. There will be a walk for donations, silent auction, contests, games, raffles, food and more. Also featured: rescues, vendors and flyball, freestyle (dancing with your dog), drafting and obedience demonstrations. The Scarborough PD K9 team will also hold a demo. AKC Canine Good Citizen testing will be held all day. Special guests include animal communicator Louise Poppema, author Linda Verville and illustrator Melissa Pelletier, of For Pete’s Sake. The book tells the true story of a blind and deaf puppy adopted from an animal shelter. FMI: 866-392-0102.

Plant Sale
On the lawn in front of Wilbur's Chocolate Factory, Independence Drive, Freeport
The Coastal Humane Society welcomes donations for their upcoming Plant Sale. When you divide your perennials this spring, please consider donating any extra plants to this fundraiser. We can use contributions of plants and donations of garden-related items.
Pot and label your donated plants with its name and color of flower. Drop them off at the shelter at 30 Range Road, Brunswick from May 1 to May 18 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pick-ups for large numbers of plants may be arranged for the week before the sale. No invasive plants or orange lilies, violets or rugosa rose, please.
The sale will feature annuals, perennials, shrubs, and garden-related items. Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to answer your gardening questions. All proceeds will benefit the animals in our care at the Coastal Humane Society shelter.
